Spotlight On: Louise Dahl-Wolfe, American Fashion Photographer

Most commonly known for her use of natural light and environmentally aware backgrounds, Louise Dahl-Wolfe was (and will always be) one of the best fashion photographers of the 20th century. Her beautiful photographs were often featured in and on the covers of 1930s-1960s copies of Harper's Bazaar, where she worked as a fashion writer. While it would be very easy to go on and on about Ms. Dahl-Wolfe's meticulous work, we will instead leave you with some of our favorite pictures. After all, and especially in this case, a picture is {truly} worth a thousand words.

We'd post all fifty looks if we could (except for the snakeskin...why oh why was it all over the fall runways?)
Our most favorites (or, you know, The Top 20):

And the genius behind all of this beauty:

Digital Inspiration - 02/28

Sources: we heart it, the cherry blossom girl

Lately, we're inspired by goddesses - Egyptian, Grecian, and modern (to name a few.) Loose layers, heavy embellishment, and free-flowing hair just feel right for the moment. Neutrals, which were shown in many spring 2011 collections, give the fabrics a more delicate and girly look. Bold hardware counteracts the super femininity. Top the look off with an unexpected hat or statement shoe for a look any modern goddess could appreciate!
